SUMMARY:
The autologous cell suspension (ReCell) was developed in 1999 based on several laboratory supported cell cultural (CellSpray(®) and non-cell cultural (CellSpray XP®) epithelial cell-wining procedures. In 2004 the method was approved for Europe. ReCell® is an ISO 13485 certified quality system with full documeted standard operating procedures. It is approved in 40 countries (UE, AUS, NZ, LA, CAN, JP, AP, China), and in Italy and Germany is incorporated in the national DRG’s. ReCell® has been succesfully tried and tested on light burns and scalds as well as traumatic wounds and scars. Moreover ReCell® is used in combination with traditional procedures of skin smoothing. For example it is used in combination with dermabrasion and laser ablation for better wound
healing. Five successful cases are described in this paper.
