Fractional radiofrequency – a new dermal method for rejuvenation and correction
MATTHIAS SANDHOFER, RUTH SANDHOFER-NOVAK, MARTINA SANDHOFER, PATRICK SCHAUER
KEY WORDS: Fractional radiofrequency microneedling (“FRM”),ablative fractional photothermolysis (AFP), non ablative fractional photothermolysis (NAFP), rejuvenation, neocollagenesis, acne scars, RF-lifting, dermal regeneration
SUMMARY:
The monopoly position of laser porcedures and poly chromatic light in form of intense pulsed light (IPL) is increasingly wavering. In our centre the switch to radiofrequency procedures has already been implemented. Because of the good results and the collagen specificity of radiowaves, we have also tried to compare or to combine the fractional ablative and non ablative laser systems with the fractional RF-system – Intracel® (Fakir). Using fractional radiofrequency good results in 121 cases were achieved so far, regarding facial skin tightening, acne scars and striae distensae. This minimal invasive method with only a very short downtime can be combined easily with other procedures like lipotransfer, hyaluronic acid, Radiesse and fractional laser systems.
