KEY WORDS: Arthropods, protozoa, worms, zoonoses
SUMMARY:
Zoonoses are infections that are naturally transmitted from animals to humans (defenition WHO). In 55 % of the cases are caused by viruses, 18 % by bacteria, 14 % by mycoses and 13 % by parasites. For the European medical fraternity parasitic zoonoses prove to be a rising problem. In the beginning of this year I gave an overview of viral zoones in Kosmetische Medizin [4]. The following paper gives an overview of the rising number of cases of parasitic zoonoses of the skin, focusing on publications within the last three years.
