SUMMARY:
For pain reduction during superficial dermatoligic, aesthetic or laser procedures, topical anaesthetics are increasingly used. Numerous lidocaine containing products are aivailable. The ideal local anaesthetic should have minimal or no adverse reactions and should unfold it’s effect as fast as possible. Products containing lidocaine and tetracaine thereby play a central role, as they provide good pain relieve with minimal side effects. There are several different lidocaine containing local anaesthetics on the market, that Are used for topical anaesthesia. But there are only few studies that deal with  their comparative efficacy under practical conditions. We therefore conducted a pilotstudy with 10 patients using Dolocupin® , whose results confirm the findings in literature, that Dolocupin® (lidocaine 40 mg/g cream, lidocaine 4 %) represents a effective, secure and convenient alternative as a local anaesthetic for clinical and cosmetic treatments, including lasers, micro needeling, radio frequency, filler and botulinum toxin injections.
