SUMMARY:
Medical-aesthetic treatments are gaining popularity, particularily more and more minimal invasive methods are becoming available to attain an improvement of appearance. However, many methods induce moderate pain such as microneedling, radiofrequency, fractional laser ablation, fillers, botulinum toxin and mesotherapy. Pain prevents approximatly 50 % of patients to actually undergo an aesthetic treatment. Therefore it is of essential importance, to offer opportunities to eradicate or drastically reduce pain. This article tries to give a summarized overview.
