SUMMARY:
Psoriasis is not only a disease of the skin and its appendages but in many patients joints may be involved too. This has to be examined carefully as crucial consequences occur if treatment is not started in time. The same statement applies to psoriatic nail changes which, when present on the finger nails, often cause personal difficulties such as rejections by the surrounding and which are extremely difficult to treat. The intensity of skin and nail psoriasis are documented with various indices such as the PASI and the NAPSI. In every psoriatic patient, attention has to be given to possible comorbidities which may develop into life-threatening diseases. The whole spectrum of psoriasis and its various forms has to be considered in industrial workers.
