Concomitant alopecia areata in monozygotic nigerian twins

SUMMARY:
Alopecia areata is a non scarring alopecia is seen commonly in children and young individuals in this environment. We report the concomitant occurrence of alopecia areata in 12 year old female monozygotic Nigerian twins. Hair loss was masked by the use of hair extension. This is the first reported case of its occurrence in twins is this environment.
